All 1,000 Bibles that 90.9 KCBI had set aside for its annual Day of 1,000 Bibles were snapped up within the first hour of the outreach last month.
The Dallas-Fort Worth station held the outreach on January 18 at five area Salvation Army Family Stores in partnership with the Salvation Army DFW Command and Buckner International. An additional 500 Bibles that had been held in reserve are being distributed to a waiting list.
“The support of our listeners and donors made this day possible, and we’re grateful to them for providing this blessing at absolutely no cost to our neighbors across DFW,” said Matt Austin, the General Manager and Vice President of KCBI, in a press release. “It’s our prayer that lives will be changed through the eternal Word of God.”
The annual outreach kicked off “2020: The Year of 20,000 Bibles.” KCBI will work with ministry partners, including Sonrise New Testament Ministries, to put 20,000 Bibles in the hands of inmates in Texas prisons.
Last year, the radio station worked with Gateway Church, Chapel of Hope Ministries, and Trinity Restoration Ministries, sending 10,000 Bibles behind prison walls.
