At the NRB 2026 Convention Freedom 250 Celebration, Vince Haley, the Director of the U.S. Domestic Policy Council, outlined a sweeping vision for America’s 250th birthday and called Christian communicators to help lead the charge.
“I must say, with this group, this convention, it feels a bit like home,” Haley said. “I’m very thankful that religious broadcasting has been there as a reliable support pillar in the spiritual formation of my own family.”
Haley defined the work of these Christian communicators with the word “constancy.” He described this trait as “a quality of honesty, unshowy dependability, a fixedness you can trust, a staying power, a bedrock faith.”
“That’s why I was so eager to speak this evening, as I would like to enlist the help of the men and women of constancy in this room on behalf of President Trump to make the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary one for the ages,” Haley said.

Haley detailed the Freedom 250 calendar brimming with patriotic spectacles, historical education, and spiritual renewal.
To help broadcasters and the public actively engage with the Semiquincentennial, the administration has released a robust suite of entirely free educational resources. Haley explicitly invited Christian communicators to seamlessly integrate these historical tools into their own programming and online offerings for the 250th anniversary.

One such resource available is the online Founders Museum, which features interactive, animated portraits of historical figures speaking directly to viewers, as well as “The Story of America,” a captivating short video series exploring the key events of the American Revolution.

To physically bring history to the masses, six “Freedom Trucks”—double-wide 18-wheelers acting as mobile museums—will spend the next 10 months touring schools, state fairs, and community events nationwide. NRB had the honor of hosting one of these mobile museums at its 2026 Convention last month.

For Americans looking to partake or volunteer, the schedule is bursting with events that blend historical reverence with modern culture. Among those mentioned by Haley:
- The Great American State Fair: Scheduled to run June 25–July 10, 2026 on the National Mall, featuring pavilions from all 50 states and territories.
- July 4th Festivities: Independence Day will boast the largest fireworks display in American history, preceded by a historic naval review of tall ships in New York Harbor.
- Unique Sporting Events: The South Lawn of the White House will host a Freedom 250 UFC fight on June 14, and a Freedom 250 Grand Prix motor race will take over the streets of the capital from August 21–23.
- Monuments & Memorials: The Administration plans to construct a “big and beautiful triumphal arc” across the Arlington Bridge and is reviving the National Garden of American Heroes, a statuary park featuring 250 of the nation’s greatest figures.

In the midst of all these events, the theme of Freedom 250 centers on faith. Highlighting President Trump’s call for America’s religious communities to pray for the country, Haley detailed the America Prays initiative, which is partnering with Pray.com and building a coalition of over 70 organizations pledging to pray weekly for the nation.
Haley also announced Rededicate 250, set for May 17 on the National Mall. Through praise, prayer, and Scripture reading, the day-long event will allow Americans to rededicate the country as One Nation Under God. The date falls exactly 250 years to the day after the Second Continental Congress observed a Day of Humiliation, Fasting and Prayer in 1776.
“If we can gather on this May 17th of this year with similar reverence and prayerfulness and humility, what an amazing 250 years we will all have ahead of us,” Haley said.

Ultimately, the celebration is about honoring a uniquely American ethos. As Haley said: “To celebrate the triumph of the American spirit is to recognize something rare in human history, a nation founded on the belief that its people could be trusted with freedom.”
Haley added: “The great achievement of the United States has not been the perfection of man, but the unleashing of the individual’s capacity to create, to strive, to build families, communities, institutions, and culture that reflect both human dignity and divine purpose. Here, more than anywhere else, the human spirit has been allowed to test itself … to fail, to repent, to pursue God, and to begin again.”
For the Christian communicators at NRB and the audiences they reach, Freedom 250 is not just a commemoration of the United States’ past, but an active, spiritual investment into her next 250 years of freedom and beyond.
