Writer, director, actor, and author Alex Kendrick is scheduled to speak at NRB’s TV & Film Summit on March 27 during the Proclaim 19 convention taking place March 26-29 in Anaheim, California.
In addition, Kendrick’s latest film, Overcomer, will be screened during the Christian media convention on Thursday, March 28. The movie, which stars Kendrick and ministry leader Priscilla Shirer, tells the story of the least likely coach helping the least likely runner attempt the impossible in the biggest race of the year.
“We are happy to have Alex Kendrick speak at our Convention and share what it means to have faith in front of the camera,” said Jerry A. Johnson, president & CEO of NRB, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. “We are also excited to feature a film screening of his latest project, Overcomer. Proclaim 19 participants will be in for a treat!”
Alex Kendrick has dedicated his life to serving Jesus Christ and making His truth and love known among the nations through movies, books, speaking, and prayer. Kendrick and his brothers, Stephen and Shannon, operate Kendrick Brothers Productions and are active members of Sherwood Church in Albany, Georgia.
In 2002, Kendrick founded Sherwood Pictures with the blessing of his church’s senior pastor, and with his brother Stephen began production on their first movie, Flywheel. After an overwhelming response, he partnered with his brother once again to write and produce Facing The Giants (2006), which exceeded box-office expectations, earning $10.1 million in theaters on a $100,000 production budget. More movies have since been produced by the Kendrick Brothers, including Fireproof (2008), which became the #1 independent film of 2008; Courageous (2011), which generated $34.5 million at the box office; and War Room (2015), which became the #1 movie at the box office, and generated more than $70 million.
The Kendricks’ latest project, Overcomer, will hit theaters on August 23.
