#NRB2023: “Living in the Dobbs Era: Life After Roe” Forum

As the countdown to the NRB 2023 International Christian Media Convention begins, NRB is pleased to share details of the communicators and advocates who will participate in a stellar lineup of topical panels.

On Tuesday morning, May 23, a lineup of pro-life leaders, advocates, and commentators will discuss the pro-life landscape in the post-Roe era.

New York Times bestselling author and nationally syndicated radio host, Eric Metaxas will moderate. Eric Metaxas is the #1 NYT bestselling author of BonhoefferLetter to the American ChurchFish Out of WaterMartin LutherIf You Can Keep ItAmazing Grace, and Miracles. He has written more than thirty children’s books. His writing has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and the New Yorker, and Metaxas has appeared as a commentator on CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC. In addition, Metaxas is the host of The Eric Metaxas Radio Show, a nationally syndicated program heard on 300 outlets and aired on TBN.

The forum will feature panelists:

  • Abby Johnson, CEO and founder of And Then There Were None and ProLove Ministries. Johnson worked for Planned Parenthood for 8 years and quit after witnessing an ultrasound-guided abortion of a 13-week-old fetus. Her defection prompted a career as a pro-life speaker. In 2012, she founded And Then There Were None, the only ministry that helps abortion workers quit and find healing. She has helped 630 abortion workers quit. Johnson’s first book, Unplanned, was made into a movie in 2019 and her newest book, Fierce Mercy, was released in 2022.
  • Jeanne Mancini, president of March For Life. Mancini is the president of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, proudly directing the iconic organization committed to restoring a culture of life in the United States, most notably through the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C., and through the growing State March for Life program. She is a sought-after speaker on Culture of Life topics, has testified before the U.S. Congress and regularly consults with state and federal elected officials on pro-life issues. Mancini makes frequent media appearances on the major news networks and her writings have appeared in all the major news publications.
  • Bradley Mattes, president of Life Issues Institute. Life Issues Institute was founded by pro-life pioneer Dr. John C. Willke and Mattes in 1991 to serve the educational needs of the pro-life movement. Mattes hosts Life Issues, a daily radio commentary on abortion and other life issues. He was host and executive producer of Facing Life Head-On, a weekly pro-life TV program that was available to more than 100 million homes in the US and Canada. Mattes is president of the International Right to Life Federation, board chair of the Terri Schiavo Life and Hope Network, and a frequent international speaker and lecturer on abortion and life issues.
  • Ingrid Skop M.D., OB/GYN and director of medical affairs at Charlotte Lozier Institute. Dr. Skop is a board-certified OB/GYN who has delivered more than 5,000 babies over a 25-year career in Texas.  As Senior Fellow and Director of Medical Affairs at the pro-life Charlotte Lozier Institute, Dr. Skop leverages her real-world experience to support research and policies that respect the dignity of every human life. As a practicing OB/GYN, she can often be found in the doctor’s lounge at the local hospital reviewing the latest research in between deliveries. Dr. Skop’s research has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals. She has also testified on pro-life legislation at the state and federal level.
