NRB Welcomes 26 New Members in Q4, 107 New Members in 2023
WASHINGTON, D.C. (NRB) – The National Religious Broadcasters (NRB), the world’s largest association of Christian communicators, welcomed 26 organizations and individuals as NRB members in the final quarter of 2023.
“We are thrilled to welcome a total of 107 new members in 2023, with 26 joining us this quarter,” said NRB President & CEO Troy A. Miller. “This year, we have seen remarkable growth in NRB membership thanks to the hard work and dedication of our Membership team and the tremendous enthusiasm among Christian communicators to join in the mission of NRB. Thank you to each and every new and returning member of 2023 for choosing to partner with us!”
NRB member recruitment and retention efforts are led by Melissa Sturgis, who joined NRB as Director of Membership in 2023. Under Sturgis’ leadership, NRB’s year-over-year new membership total has grown by more than 57 percent.
NRB Q4 New Members
Binghamtown Baptist Church
Binghamtown Baptist Church is an independent, fundamental Baptist Church, established in 1943 in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Binghamtown has an active TV outreach ministry which began in 1977. Currently, the church is televising programming on nine local and national outlets. Since 1982, the church has owned and operated radio stations WMIK-AM and WMIK-FM. Both stations have a Christian programming format. The church operates Gateway Christian School, providing a biblically-based education to students in Pre-K through high school. In March 2023, the church began televising a weekly program over the NRBTV network, “Biblical Truths from the Gateway,” which airs on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
Child Evangelism Fellowship
Child Evangelism Fellowship, founded in 1937, is a Bible-centered organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish them in the Word of God and a local church. CEF is headquartered in Warrenton, Missouri, but has operations worldwide. CEF has many different ministries for children, but the primary ones are the “Good News Club” and the “5-Day Club.”
Global Crusades with Kumuyi
Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) is a worldwide evangelistic ministry that organizes Gospel crusades, conferences, youth assemblies, and book publications. It is dedicated to spreading God’s message of truth through television, radio, daily podcasts, and social media. With a widespread presence spanning over 180 countries, GCK has garnered a substantial following of more than 5.3 million attendees, resulting in over 500,000 decisions for Christ. Its edifying content, delivered through programs like “GCK Daily” and “GCK Kings Circle,” is broadcast in multiple languages daily. In addition to its evangelistic efforts, GCK undertakes humanitarian initiatives through GCK Medical Missions, addressing health disparities, promoting wellness, and extending medical assistance to those in need. The overarching mission of GCK is to lead participants to the truth found in Christ.
God Centered Life
The aim of the God Centered Life is to proclaim God’s word as far and wide as possible. The vision is to call people to center their lives on God. What will give increased health and happiness to our individual lives? What will cause our country and world to find peace and thrive now and eternally? What will bring renewed spiritual health to God’s people? Answer: a return to centering our lives on God! Hence, the ministry of God Centered Life broadcasting around the world through media, radio and internet. Josh Moody serves as the senior pastor of College Church in Wheaton and is the president and founder of the God Centered Life. Moody is the author of many books.
Gospel Tide Broadcasting Association
Founded in 1946, the Gospel Tide Broadcasting Association (The Tide ®) is an international Christian outreach radio ministry committed to worldwide evangelism, discipleship, and establishing churches. Initially, it aired in English as the “Gospel Tide Hour,” featuring the renowned Gospel Tide Choir. In 2008, the ministry shifted its focus away from English broadcasts to prioritize global outreach. Today, the ministry has active partnerships in 13 countries spanning three continents with gospel media broadcasts in 26 languages. In addition, the ministry engages in discipleship, distributing Christian literature, hosting courses and conferences, providing media players for underserved areas, collaborating with local churches for planting and leadership development, and working with local partners to create culturally relevant programs and support listeners’ growth. GraceNet Ministries, Inc.
GraceNet Ministries, Inc., the corporate umbrella for GraceNetMedia and GraceNetRadio, is a Christian media organization founded in 2012 by Dolores King St. George and a team of former GraceFM Radio Network staff. GraceNetRadio, an internet radio ministry, airs 24/7 and features many NRB member programs, such as “Focus on the Family,” “Share Life Today,” and “Truth for Life.” GraceNetMedia assists ministries with radio programming, and podcasts, and has plans to connect Christians to inspirational publications that will encourage, inspire, and educate in the Word. GraceNetMedia also facilitates local connections in South Florida between followers and GNR listeners to churches and parachurch ministries based on the follower’s interests or needs. The organization’s vision is to make the truth and grace of Jesus known to every person.
Hardwired with Jeff Wickwire
“Hardwired with Jeff Wickwire,” previously “Life Talk Radio,” is a radio ministry that reaches across the United States as well as more than 105 countries worldwide. The founder, Jeff Wickwire, shares stories of faith, inspiration, and hope, grounded in Scripture. The ministry’s mission is to “Worship God. Disciple Christians. Reach the World.” Jeff’s journey began when he found Christ as a teenager in a juvenile detention center. Today he is an author, radio teacher, and Senior Pastor of Turning Point Church, which he established in 2005. He holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in biblical studies and has been in ministry for more than 40 years.
Olivet Nazarene University
Founded by a group of committed educators, church leaders, and business laypersons, and supported by 50,000 alumni worldwide, Olivet Nazarene University has had a mission of “education with a Christian purpose” since 1907. Today, the university is attended by about 3,500 students from more than 40 states and 20 countries, representing nearly 50 denominations. They are drawn to Olivet by the 140 areas of study the university offers and the faith-centered culture, which is at the heart of its superior academics, athletics, social atmosphere, and ministry opportunities. Under the Olivet Media Group, the University operates the Shine.FM radio network in Illinois, Indiana and Michigan as well as the Brilla.FM Spanish network in Illinois and Indiana. The student-led SparkHD.FM is a student training radio station where students receive hands-on educational opportunities. Olivet also has a student film program, including their L.A. WNLR New Life Ministries
The mission of New Life Ministries is to lift the name of Jesus Christ in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, and as led by the Holy Spirit, throughout the uttermost parts of the world. New Life Ministries is the parent nonprofit 501(c)(3) that owns and operates WNLR New Life Radio (Christian, AM 1150), and through WNLR they “reach out to the community every day of the year and encourage people in their homes, places of work, and just driving around town.” They also livestream 24/7.
Classical Conversations is a proven Christian homeschool program created by parents for parents. They do this through a Christ-centered and family-friendly approach to homeschooling that is biblical and hospitable, focused on three key areas: Classical, Christian, and Community. Their home education program covers K-4 to college credit and includes college degree opportunities for parents. Decades ago, our country systematically removed religious education from the public school day. LifeWise Academy is bringing it back! LifeWise Academy upholds the authority of Scripture and follows historic, orthodox Christian beliefs. In September 2023, Westbow Press published her first book, “Destiny Secrets, Vol. One – Wealth Transfers.” Carole plans to pitch an American Christian history novel to be adapted into an action/adventure film.
David Jones is an insurance professional with 30 years of experience and 20+ years at Lockton, the world’s largest independent private insurance broker. He leads Lockton Ministries with a group of 30 professionals. Utilizing a biblical worldview, Lockton Ministries manages risk for faith-based organizations. David’s mission is to serve these ministries and provide risk management consulting to protect their bottom lines from various exposures. He worked on notable projects, such as exposure for a faith-based cloud service provider and concerns related to cancel culture with Christian media broadcasters. Since giving his life to Christ in 1985, David actively serves in church operations, missions, lectures, and Bible studies.
Judy Isaacson Elias is the founder of Heroes to Heroes, an organization that provides spiritual healing for combat veterans who are on a path to self-destruction due to moral injury and soul-crushing ideation brought home from war. Since 2010, God has sent Judy on a mission to help veterans reconnect with Him in order to find the forgiveness they seek. Heroes to Heroes provides a 12-month curriculum-based spiritual healing journey that includes ten days of self-discovery and reconnection in Israel. Participants get baptized in the Jordan River, walk where Jesus walked, learn their history, and find forgiveness. Over 400 veterans have completed the journey and over 700 are on their waiting list. Author and speaker Michelle Hearn, a Dallas Theological Seminary graduate with over 25 years of church leadership experience, is dedicated to “helping women press into God’s Word, hold on to Jesus, and stand firm in their faith”. Her newest women’s Bible study, “The Voice of the Church,” is set to release in 2024 and takes an in-depth journey through the book of Acts. Michelle’s mission extends beyond teaching to the island of Hispaniola. As a board director of Teach Haiti, she aids in the physical and spiritual restoration of Haiti, providing a Christian education and vocational training to children. She also leads her own initiative, The Bible Project, where Bibles are distributed to those in need and audio Bibles are sent throughout Haiti for those who cannot read.
Petra Oblak, based in London, UK, has had a 25-year career in the broadcasting industry, closely aligned with Christian TV and radio networks. Through her company, she provided studio and playout facilities to Christian broadcasters and played an instrumental role in launching several Christian TV channels on UKs leading platforms Sky and Freeview. For the past two years, Petra has transitioned into a broadcast consultant role, dedicated to global Christian TV and radio content distribution. Petra is also a life coach and mentor, currently developing her first Christian Coaching programs for Christian networks to benefit their viewers. Overall, she aims to assist with the distribution of Christian content, ultimately spreading the message of faith to a wider audience.
