NRB Releases COVID-19 PSAs for Radio, Web, Podcasts

NRB | April 16, 2020 | NRB News

In conjunction with the CDC, NRB has produced two PSAs – one 15 seconds long and one 30 seconds long – for its members to use to encourage their listeners to put in place safe practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

“I am thrilled that the Administration recognizes the role NRB can play in working to keep Americans safe,” said Janet Parshall, Chairman of NRB’s Board of Directors. “These PSAs underscore yet again another reason why NRB exists: to advocate for our members, even when it means keeping them safe.”

Last week, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai thanked radio and television broadcasters for their tireless efforts during the coronavirus outbreak, including running public service announcements on social distancing, airing educational programming to help with distance learning, expanding COVID-19 reporting, and holding fundraisers to help those who have faced financial hardship due to the virus.

“As always, in times of emergency, broadcasters are stepping up to serve their communities and help keep people informed, healthy, and safe,” said Chairman Pai.  “We’ve seen time and again that broadcasters’ efforts to keep their communities informed during emergencies help save lives, including when it comes to this pandemic.”
