WASHINGTON (NRB) – President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have both tested positive for COVID-19 and are experiencing some symptoms, according to announcements from the White House. The President has been taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, for a few days of observation and care.

“Out of an abundance of caution, and at the recommendation of his physician and medical experts, the President will be working from the presidential offices at Walter Reed for the next few days,” Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said. “President Trump appreciates the outpouring of support for both he and the First Lady.”

The President released a short video statement, saying, “I think I’m doing very well, but we’re going to make sure that things work out.”

In response, the following statement was issued by Troy Miller, CEO of NRB, the nation’s preeminent association of Christian broadcasters and communicators:

“We are praying for a swift and full recovery for the President and the First Lady. We encourage all faithful Americans to put aside politics and join us in praying for them, as we are called to do in 1 Timothy 2:2. Pray for the healing Hand of God to restore them to good and perfect health soon. And we urge continued prayer for all those who have suffered as a result of this pandemic.”
