NRB Members Respond to Affected Communities after Hurricane Ian

NRB | October 6, 2022 | Member News

In the wake of Hurricane Ian, NRB members have rapidly mobilized resources and deployed ministry personnel throughout the affected areas in Florida. Some of these organizations are still seeking donations of relief supplies and volunteers to help fulfill work requests from homeowners in need.

Billy Graham Evangelistic Association

BGEA’s Rapid Response chaplains are ministering personally to weary residents of Englewood, Florida, many of whom have lacked power and water for days. “As Samaritan’s Purse fulfills work orders in the coming weeks by sending out volunteers, Billy Graham chaplains will come alongside crews and residents to offer emotional and spiritual care, helping Floridians process this tragedy,” a BGEA update explains.

Operation Blessing

CBN’s Operation Blessing disaster relief team is delivering vital supplies and helping residents of Naples, Florida, and the surrounding area.

“Facing the devastation head-on, our disaster relief team has already delivered aid from our faithful partners to communities like Naples and Cape Coral,” an Operation Blessing field report relayed. “We’re handing out critical supplies like tarps for damaged roofs, generators to sustain those without power, and emergency food and water. Many more communities need the same help. Our teams are traveling across the devastated Florida coast assessing damage and preparing to deliver key supplies to the next communities in need.”

Operation Blessing is still seeking day volunteers to help residents sort their belongings and remove debris. Sign up to volunteer onsite here.

Samaritan’s Purse

Samaritan’s Purse North American Ministries has launched three disaster relief units with partner churches in Myers, Englewood, and Punta Gorda, Florida. Volunteers are serving in Jesus’ name to help hurting homeowners recover from Hurricane Ian’s 150-mph winds, heavy rain, and a massive storm surge.

Samaritan’s Purse is still seeking volunteers to help at disaster relief units. Sign up to volunteer onsite here.

As NRB members reach out to support critical needs in the state of Florida, please join NRB in praying for those impacted by Hurricane Ian, as well as seamless and effective operations for those providing relief.
