Christian Music Broadcasters (CMB) presented its 2022 CMB awards on June 3 during its Momentum conference—with multiple NRB member organizations among the awardees!

Open to any station that plays Christian music for a majority of its broadcast day, the CMB Radio Station of the Year Awards are presented to stations that show outstanding achievement in on-air presentation, community service, ratings, new media, and industry leadership. The 2022 Station of the Year recipients included 89.5 KVNE in the small market category. Owned and operated by Encouragement Media Group (EMG), an NRB member organization, 89.5 KVNE is an FM Christian radio station based out of East Texas with a mission of encouraging its listeners, connecting the community, and pointing people to Jesus Christ. KVNE serves listeners with contemporary Christian music, programs, information and entertainment. Fuzion, KVNE’s recently launched Spanish Christian radio station, delivers Christian programming to the Spanish-speaking community. KVNE actively aims to meet needs in the community through special fundraising days, partnerships with the Salvation Army, connections with local churches and much more!

CMB’s Community Service Award is presented to a Christian broadcaster, radio station or associated professional who, during the past year, has shown outstanding effort in community service. This year’s Community Service Award recipient was NRB member Hope Media Group. A faith-based media organization in Houston, Texas, Hope Media Group represents Texas and nationwide stations including KSBJ, WAY FM, Vida Unida, NGEN, and others. Hope Media Group is known for its tremendous community service efforts such as providing 20,000 bottles of water for the people of Houston after the winter freeze, raising over $276,000 with God’s Pit Crew, sending 684 KSBJ Team Help Crews to Louisiana and sponsoring the distribution of 2,711 Blessing Buckets after the tragedy of Hurricane Ida, fulfilling the Christmas wishes of 9,316 children in partnership with Be A Resource, and  participating in the lifesaving annual Blood Drive with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center.

Other Station of the Year Award winners include Star 88.3, in the medium market category, 104.9 the River, in the large market category, and 99.1 JOY FM, in the major market/network category.

The Industry Achievement Award was presented to Jim Campbell, founder and network president of Radio Training Network (RTN), and the Rich Mullins Impact Award was presented to Chris Tomlin to recognize his longtime contributions to the music and ministry of Christian radio.

NRB congratulates all 2022 CMB award winners and honors members 89.5 KVNE and Hope Media Group for their industry expertise and excellence in Gospel outreach.
