This week, NRB member Turning Point Ministries became the first religious program to join the daily programming lineup on the History Channel.
Turning Point was founded in 1982 as the broadcast ministry of Dr. David Jeremiah with the mission of delivering “the unchanging Word of God to an ever-changing world.” Today, Turning Point Radio is one of the largest syndicated Christian radio broadcasts in the United States, and Turning Point Television is available around the globe with the potential to reach more than 2 billion households worldwide each week. Turning Point programming offers “biblical teaching, special musical selections, and faith-centered seasonal productions.”
Dr. Jeremiah said that this opportunity with the History Channel is a reminder of God’s faithfulness and a demonstration of people’s desires to hear biblical messages.
“It’s such a humbling opportunity to be the first religious programming broadcast on the History Channel,” Jeremiah said. “But we’re offering far more than just religious instruction. We’re offering hope for a world in need of healing, and it comes from the greatest pages ever written in history.”
Jeremiah’s program will continue to air on Lifetime, USA Network, Hillsong Channel, and GOD TV.
Since its launch, Turning Point’s Broadcast Ministries has seen significant growth. With the program’s quality and consistent performances on major television networks, Turning Point Ministries has the opportunity to reach millions of people with the gospel of Christ. Now with its debut on the History Channel, Turning Point Ministries has an even greater opportunity to reach people with the gospel while potentially opening the possibility of religious programing airing on channels such as the History Channel.
