NRB Commends Presidential Leadership in First Phase Israel-Hamas Peace Deal
WASHINGTON, D.C. (NRB) — Troy A. Miller, president & CEO of the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB), has issued the following statement in light of today’s announcement that Israel and Hamas have agreed to the first phase of a ceasefire and hostage exchange deal:
“We acknowledge with gratitude the tireless perseverance, strategic vision, and dedication of President Donald J. Trump and his administration in pushing forward a diplomatic path toward peace.
“We call upon the entire Church—across the United States and around the world—to stand in steadfast prayer: that this ceasefire holds, that all hostages are safely returned, that further phases of the agreement are honored, and that this agreement will open the door to enduring peace, justice, and security for both Israel and her neighbors.
“We continue to stand with Israel, lift up the hostages and their families, and trust the Prince of Peace to guard this hopeful turning point and bring true reconciliation.”
This marks the first phase of a fragile and high-stakes process. Under the agreement, Hamas will release the remaining Israeli hostages—both alive and deceased—within 72 hours of the ceasefire, while Israel will withdraw some forces and release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. We hope that subsequent phases, which would include disarming the radical terrorist group Hamas and removing them from Gaza’s governance, will also bring peace, hope, and security to the Palestinian people, who have been used as human shields and bargaining chips during this war.
NRB has long been a steadfast champion of Israel and a vocal advocate for her right to live in peace and security in her biblical homeland.
