The NRB International Christian Media Convention has long been an international meeting place for Christian communicators, and NRB 2025 promises to continue this legacy by providing unparalleled opportunities for global connection and collaboration.
Tim Whitehead, director of Galcom International, underscored the significance of the Convention for his ministry. With a few dozen projects going on at any given time, Galcom relies on the annual Convention to meet their various partners from around the world face to face.
“That is why the NRB Convention is such a vital event for us: all of our partners in one place at the same time,” he explained. “We simply couldn’t do what we do without the NRB.”
Roger Lonnquist, president and general manager of Your Network of Praise / New Life Africa, echoed these sentiments, sharing how the NRB Convention facilitated the rapid growth of their work in Africa when their radio program first expanded internationally.
“The connections we made through the Great Commission Reception and Forum, and the NRB International Committee, were a tremendous help,” Lonnquist said. “We felt we had a calling to work in Africa but knew very little about international ministry. As we began collaborating with NRB member ministries that we became acquainted with through the various NRB activities, we saw our work in Africa grow rapidly.”
Hormoz Shariat, the founder & president of Iran Alive Ministries, shared how the Great Commission Reception and Forum impacted him by “providing a solid worldview through the wisdom shared by the speakers.”
“Connecting with broadcasters and ministries making a significant impact in the USA and beyond was both enlightening and encouraging,” Shariat said. “The vision of NRB for the upcoming years, along with the sense of unity among believers, truly resonated with me.”
In a world where technology has made communication instantaneous, the NRB Convention helps ministries go deeper by fostering meaningful in-person connections. This special conference of media leaders allows for better understanding and collaboration, which is essential for global ministries working in complex cultural contexts.
Bonnie Sala, president & CEO of Guidelines International Ministries, emphasized the spiritual significance of these relationships:
“The global connections we have the privilege of forming through NRB open extraordinary Kingdom opportunities,” she said. “While inequality in gospel access persists worldwide, the annual Great Commission Forum and Reception at the convention provide a unique chance for us to address this challenge together—as one united body of Christ.”
One of the hallmarks of the NRB Convention is its ability to equip ministries with the tools they need to succeed, whether through workshops, keynote addresses, or networking sessions. For international ministries, these resources often translate directly into expanded reach and improved efficiency. As a direct result of NRB Conventions, NRB members have joined forces to expand their efforts beyond the capacity of a single ministry.
“Our international members, whom I have the privilege of meeting each year at these events, are my heroes of the faith,” Sala said. “Hearing their stories of perseverance, their challenges, and how God is powerfully working, is deeply inspiring. Learning how we can join forces to break down barriers to the Gospel isn’t just uplifting—it’s the highlight of my NRB experience.”
With so many powerful communications platforms available, and global hostility to Christianity on the rise, the importance of global partnerships in Christian communication has never been greater. NRB invites all Christian communicators to join in this mission, fostering connections that will last for years to come.
