Manassas, VA – Samaritan's Purse will receive the NRB Best Television Teaching Program Award for its Children's Heart Television Pilot during the February 27th Television Reception at the NRB Convention & Exposition.

“Noted for their Gospel-based humanitarian efforts, Samaritan’s Purse also excels at storytelling,” said NRB President & CEO Dr. Frank Wright.  “Their outstanding special programming tells the age-old story of God’s people reaching out with the love of Christ to relieve the suffering of others.”

Children’s Heart is a family-friendly, seven-episode television series that follows the stories of three Mongolian children with life-threatening heart defects, and a number of unique families and individuals who believe in making sacrifices to help others.

Samaritan's Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan's Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ.

The NRB Best Television Special Programming Award is presented to a special that demonstrates a unique vision and perspective of an important current issue; displays the highest standards of quality, creativity and innovative content; engages the culture as an effective witness from a Christian perspective; and shows a compelling use of the medium from artistic and technical standpoints.
