Manassas, VA – Peggy Campbell will receive the notable NRB William Ward Ayer Award for Distinguished Service during the February 21st Awards Dinner at the NRB 2012 Convention & Exposition.

“Peggy Campbell is a true servant-hearted leader, like her husband, Jon, who also received this award,” said NRB President & CEO Dr. Frank Wright. “Peggy would rather have the limelight focused on someone else and on their accomplishments, and that is precisely why we are pleased to honor her today.”

Joining Ambassador Advertising Agency (Irvine, CA) in 1977 to help in the launch of Chuck Swindoll’s new radio ministry, Peggy Campbell was appointed President of the company in 2007, following the death of her husband, Jon, who had previously held that position. Today leadership remains a joint effort, now shared with Jim Sanders. Beyond the work of Ambassador, and serving as a member of the Executive Committee for NRB, Peggy is actively engaged at Azusa Pacific University, serving as a Trustee. She assumes the role of Chairman for the Board of Trustees in May this year, the first time in the university’s 112-year history that the Chairmanship has been awarded to a woman.

Pioneer broadcaster and pastor William Ward Ayer was NRB's first president. Instrumental in the formation of the Association, Ayer drafted the Code of Ethics that formed the basis of evangelical response to the radio networks' threat against religious broadcasting in the 1940s. This award is presented to an individual NRB member with excellence and integrity for outstanding and significant contributions to the field of Christian communications.
