Manassas, VA – KVNE, located in East Texas, will receive the prestigious NRB Small Market Radio Station of the Year Award during the February 26th Radio Reception at the NRB 2011 Convention & Exposition.

“KVNE became the first Christian station in East Texas when it went on the air in 1983, and today it is the most-listened-to station in the area—regardless of format—in its target 25-54 market,” said NRB President & CEO Dr. Frank Wright. “The Lord has blessed their commitment to excellence and their philosophy of connecting with their listeners to place them on top of their market.”

Through their focus on community outreach, KVNE has shared the love of Christ in East Texas and beyond.  At Christmastime, they increased their listenership by 40,000 through billboard campaigns. They received 342 inquiries from listeners seeking more information about a relationship with Jesus Christ through their Need Him spots over the past year. And they connected listeners to those in need locally, to orphans in Guatemala, and to soldiers serving overseas.

The NRB Small Market Radio Station of the Year Award is presented to a radio station that is innovative, locally focused, and effectively impacts a market of less than 750,000 in potential population through community service, promotions and marketing, outreach, ratings, and/or other means.
