WASHINGTON (NRB) – Five evangelical preachers will take the stage at Proclaim 17, the NRB International Christian Media Convention in Orlando, Florida, to preach on the five “solas” of the Protestant Reformation as 2017 marks the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s Ninety-Five Theses.

The “sola” speakers will be Dr. Tony Evans, Founder and President of The Urban Alternative (“Sola Gratia” – by grace alone); Dr. R.C. Sproul, Founder and Chairman of Ligonier Ministries (“Sola Scriptura” – by Scripture alone); Dr. Erwin Lutzer, Pastor Emeritus of Moody Church (“Sola Fide” – by faith alone); Mac Brunson, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church Jacksonville (“Solus Christus” – through Christ alone); and Dr. Barry Creamer, President of Criswell College (“Soli Deo Gloria” – glory to God alone).

“The truths that ignited the Reformation are as critical today as they were 500 years ago,” said Dr. Jerry A. Johnson, President & CEO of the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB). “As a premier gathering of evangelicals across America and around the world, Proclaim 17 is an ideal platform to remind ourselves of these critical truths as NRB seeks to fulfill its mission to advance biblical truth, promote media excellence, and defend free speech. I’m delighted to have a diverse group of biblical expositors to teach on the five solas of the Reformation.”

The “solas” (Latin for “alone”) represent the five foundational principles of the Protestant Reformation, which was launched in 1517 when Luther nailed his Ninety-Five Theses to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany.

The “sola” preachers will be among more than 80 speakers who will address thousands of Christian media and ministry professionals in Orlando February 27-March 2 for Proclaim 17 to make strategic connections, to acquire new resources, and to discover the latest tips, trends, and insights in their respective fields of work.

Every year, the Convention draws a wide range of participants, including radio and TV station owners and operators, pastors, church media professionals, radio and TV program producers, college educators, students, filmmakers, web and mobile developers, social media managers, marketing representatives, and ministry staff members.

“Thousands come to our Convention each year to find connections, resources, and insights that will help them advance their mission, their organizations, and their careers,” said Johnson. “If you’re in the business of reaching people for Jesus Christ through media, this is a must-attend event.”

A highlight of the annual gathering is the bustling Exposition, the world’s largest marketplace dedicated to Christian media and ministry professionals seeking to harness the power of electronic media to spread the Gospel. Showcasing their products and services will be around 200 companies, ministries, and organizations, including broadcasters, nonprofits, educational institutions, publishers, media agencies, and broadcast equipment and software companies. Also on the Expo floor in 2017 will be Museum of the Bible, which returns this year with an all-new, one-of-a-kind interactive preview of its 430,000-square-foot facility in Washington, D.C., scheduled to open in November 2017. Through a breathtaking 20,000-square-foot presentation, visitors to the exhibit will get a firsthand look at treasures from the museum’s notable collections, which contain some of history’s most consequential biblical artifacts. They’ll get an exclusive sneak peek at the eight-floor museum’s exhibit plans, as well as content and interactive technologies designed exclusively for this singular grand project. Museum of the Bible is the Platinum Sponsor of Proclaim 17.

Other highlights include the industry networking reception, the CV 24-hour student production competitions, the film pitch-a-thon, public policy sessions focused on religious freedom, musical performances by artists including Selah, Lindy Conant, and Laura Story, presentation of NRB’s 2017 media awards, and film screenings. Among the films being screened at Proclaim 17 are The Case for Christ, a film that draws on the true story of Lee and Leslie Strobel, whose marriage struggled mightily as her growing faith collided with his determined atheism; Let There Be Light, an upcoming faith-based film about a world-famous atheist who finds his purpose and reimagines his life after a near-death experience; and Mully, which depicts the extraordinary rags-to-riches story of Charles Mully, whose meteoric rise from orphaned poverty in Kenya leads him on an unimaginable journey of selflessness.

Then, there are the eight specialized summits and tracks, where attendees will gain valuable insights for their work and ministry. The summits that will take place during Proclaim 17 include the Radio Summit, TV Summit, Church Media Summit, Digital Media Summit, Film & Entertainment Summit, and Great Commission (International) Summit. There will also be a Pastors Track and Professional Development Track.

In total, there will be more than 80 speakers at Proclaim 17, including preachers such as Jonathan Falwell and Lee Strobel; ministry leaders such as Stephen Douglass and Nick Hall; thought leaders such as Phil Cooke and Eric Metaxas; and newsmakers such as Sean Hannity, Kelvin Cochran, Todd Starnes, and the Benham brothers.

Proclaim 17 will be held February 27-March 2 at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida. The Exposition will open its doors Tuesday, February 28, at 10 a.m.
