Manassas, VA – ERF, based in Germany, will receive the NRB International Television Ministry Award during the February 21st International Keynote Session at the NRB 2012 Convention & Exposition.

“ERF was one of the first private broadcasters in Germany to spread the Gospel, and since 2009 has utilized its own TV channel to share the claims of Christ with German-speaking people,” said NRB Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships Dr. Ron Harris. “Original programs and worship services from various churches are helping viewers to discover Christ and to deepen their faith.”

“The broadcaster for a whole lifetime” is the slogan of ERF. The Christian media enterprise offers programming for both young and old. Established in 1959 as Evangeliums-Rundfunk (“Evangelical Broadcasting”), it started broadcasting the Gospel via radio in 1961. Now, a half-century later, ERF has expanded into television and the Internet. ERF’s 24/7 TV channel, ERF 1, can be seen across Europe via Astra digital satellite, offering a wide range of Christian programming for believers and pre-believers alike, including talk shows, documentaries, concerts, magazine programs, quiz shows, teaching, and drama. Financed solely through donations, ERF has an annual budget of 14.5 million Euros ($18.5 million).

The NRB International Television Ministry Award is presented to an organization based outside the United States that excels in television or video ministry, exercising integrity and faithfulness to the cause of Christ, while demonstrating unusual effectiveness in impacting the target culture with the Gospel.
