Manassas, VA– Dr. William Lane Craig is scheduled to speak on Tuesday, February 24, at a session titled “Islam: Theological & Great Commission Challenges” during the NRB 2015 International Christian Media Convention in Nashville, TN.
“William Lane Craig is an astute scholar and a skillful defender of the faith,” noted NRB President & CEO Dr. Jerry A. Johnson. “His knowledge of the Scriptures and his extensive research of Islam make him an invaluable contributor to discuss the ‘Theological Challenges of Islam.’”
Dr. Craig is Research Professor of Philosophy at Talbot School of Theology and Professor of Philosophy at Houston Baptist University. He is a graduate of Wheaton College (BA), Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (MA), the University of Birmingham in England (Ph.D.), and the University of Munich in Germany (Doctorate in Theology). Dr. Craig writes and speaks often about Islam, and has represented Christianity in formal debates with Islamic thinkers, debating over the concept of God, Jesus, the crucifixion, the resurrection, and salvation. His programs are featured on the NRB Network.
In addition, Dr. Craig heads Reasonable Faith ministries and has authored or edited more than 30 books, including The Kalam Cosmological Argument; Assessing the New Testament Evidence for the Historicity of the Resurrection of Jesus; Divine Foreknowledge and Human Freedom; Theism, Atheism and Big Bang Cosmology; and God, Time and Eternity.
During the morning session on Islam, Dr. Craig will join a speaker lineup that will include Isik Abla, Founder of Isik Abla Ministries; Dr. Erwin Lutzer, Senior Pastor of The Moody Church; and Dr. Michael Youssef, Founder & President of Leading the Way with Dr. Michael Youssef.
Other sessions that will address Islam later in the day will focus on “Islam and Human Rights,” “Islam and Culture,” and “Islam and Security.” Among the speakers will be Frank Gaffney, Founder and President of the Center for Security Policy; Best-selling author and Middle East expert Joel C. Rosenberg; Erick Stacklebeck, Host of CBN News’ The Watchman. Day passes for the four-day NRB15 Convention are available, as are free Expo-only passes.
