Manassas, VA – Doris Brougham will receive the prestigious NRB Milestone Award during the March 1st Banquet at the NRB Convention & Exposition.

“Doris Brougham heard the call of God and stepped out in faith to bring the Gospel to the other side of the globe,” said NRB President & CEO Dr. Frank Wright. “Five decades later, she still is actively ministering with a willing heart.”

Doris Brougham has been sharing God’s love in Asia for over 60 years. Fondly known as Teacher Peng Meng-hui, Brougham is perhaps one of the most well-known English teachers to Chinese people worldwide. Believing it was more effective to use media to reach people, Brougham founded Overseas Radio Inc. (ORI) in 1960, which became Overseas Radio and Television, Inc. (ORTV) when television came to Taiwan in 1962. Brougham continues to teach, produce, write, edit, consult, and speak.

Longevity in any field is becoming a rarity, and exemplary service in Christian broadcasting for 50 years—or more—is a feat worthy of recognition and applause. With the Milestone Award, NRB desires to honor the industry pioneers who brought Christian communications to the place of respect and achievement it enjoys today.
