O’Rielly: FCC has ‘Obligation’ to Update Media Rules.

Washington insiders expect the Federal Communications Commission will begin taking its first steps to update media regulations as soon as next month, and according to commissioner Michael O’Rielly there’s no time to waste. He said the agency has a statutory obligation to modernize its media ownership rules to reflect the current marketplace, a responsibility O’Rielly thinks the previous Commission “ignored” when it completed a quadrennial ownership review last August.
