Blackburn, Eshoo re-introduce Musicians’ Rights Act

Re-introducing the Protecting the Rights of Musicians Act, House Energy and Commerce Committee Vice Chair Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (D-CA) lobbied for musical artists’ rights in Washington D.C. on Thursday.
If passed, the bill would base the ability of broadcasters to opt for retransmission consent payments on whether broadcaster-owned radio stations pay performers for their music.
