The Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview launched its “21 Days of Prayer for Life” initiative last week, and is inviting hundreds of thousands of people across the nation to pray for the victims of abortion and the defense of innocent life.
Co-sponsored by Focus on the Family, CareNet, the ERLC, Students for Life, March for Life, Save the Storks, and other top pro-life champions across the U.S., the initiative is calling Christians to unite, to pray, and to engage on behalf of what organizers consider the most significant human rights cause of our day.
“The idea of engaging others may sound scary, but it shouldn’t,” commented John Stonestreet, President of the Colson Center and co-host of BreakPoint. “Heart and mind change is not our responsibility. It’s God’s! We shouldn’t worry about converting people to pro-life. But we can give them something to think about, however imperfectly we may communicate it. God will do the rest.”
To help participants engage the culture with the message that all humans have value simply because they are human, created by God in His own image, the Colson Center has prepared 21 Days of Prayer for Life, a free downloadable booklet at ColsonCenter.org. Co-authored by Stonestreet and noted pro-life apologist Scott Klusendorf, the guide combines moving pro-life stories, Scripture, and guided prayers. Along the way, participants are equipped to engage in a conversation with family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors.
The booklet may be freely distributed upon request.
The resource and prayer initiative come as America draws near the 43rd anniversary of the infamous Roe v Wade Supreme Court decision, which asserted a right to privacy in the Constitution that extended to abortion.
Next Friday, January 22, tens of thousands of marchers are expected to participate in the upcoming March for Life, rallying on the National Mall and the streets around the Capitol and the Supreme Court to urge respect for human life and the end of abortion in America.
This year, the March for Life theme will be “Pro-Life and Pro-Woman Go Hand in Hand.”
