NRB Member Spotlight: Miracle Channel

Leon FontaineMiracle Channel is television with purpose. It’s reaching people with the hope of Christ through contemporary, life-changing programs from popular ministries, documentaries, talk shows, music videos, movies, Canadian news, live programs, and Miracle Channel’s internationally recognized in-house program, LEON. It’s the first all Christian channel in history to broadcast in Canada, and is still the only Canadian channel broadcasting all Christian programming. Miracle Channel has been leading the Christian television industry in Canada since 1996.

In 2010, Leon Fontaine was asked to take on the role of CEO. Leon loves people and is passionate about empowering them to achieve God’s best. Leon and his wife Sally are also the senior pastors of Springs Church, a contemporary church with six campuses across two provinces in Western Canada.

Leon has initiated massive internal change at Miracle Channel and his commitment to a Spirit Contemporary style has revolutionized the channel. Spirit Contemporary refers to being sensitive to the needs and preferences of the non-churched, yet refusing to compromise the life-changing flow of God’s Spirit.

Phil Cooke, internationally known writer and speaker, commented: “As Christians, we need to understand these kinds of changes. To engage the culture more effectively, you guys at the Miracle Channel are doing a remarkable job at that.  Supporting an organization like this is making a huge difference in trying to reach millions of people for the gospel.”

Leon also hosts Miracle Channel’s daily original program, LEON, which features discussions with world-renowned guests such as Franklin Graham, Dr. Gary Chapman, and Darlene Zschech. LEON airs on several other television networks, including the NRB Network in the U.S. and Velugu TV in India, the U.K. and North America.  It has also just recently been added to the line-up at both TBN Africa and at UCB TV in the U.K. and Europe.

Since 2010, Miracle Channel has been growing exponentially in Canada, the U.S. and abroad. “Something for everyone” really sums up the variety of programming offered by Miracle Channel, and its commitment to reach every generation influences every part of the channel. Every month Miracle Channel receives countless reports of people who give their lives to Christ, rededicate their walk to Jesus and have their faith strengthened and restored. Viewers enjoy the channel on any of Canada’s satellite TV providers, many major cable companies, and online both by live streaming and archived episodes
