NRB Chairman of the Board Bill Blount was the distinguished speaker last week for the Media Forum of Bob Jones University's Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Chairman Blount, who is also President of Blount Communications, is an alumnus of BJU and used the opportunity last Tuesday to encourage students while sharing his passion for media.
"It had been 37 years since I have returned to Bob Jones University since graduating with a degree in Radio/TV Production," recalled Chairman Blount. "What a wonderful experience to see both how the physical campus has changed, but also the new and innovative media courses their communications major now offers.
"Additionally," he added, "what fun it was to share how the Lord has used what I learned at BJU to take me on a wonderful adventure in Christian broadcasting. Being with the students made we wish I was young again, so I could begin anew a career in spreading the Gospel through media!"
Among the encouragements that Chairman Blount shared were:
A member of the Intercollegiate NRB (iNRB), the BJU Department of Journalism and Mass Communication exists to prepare aspiring media professionals to communicate effectively in their work and ministry. To that end, BJU's Journalism and Communications Department provides students the opportunity to participate on the staff of the campus radio and TV stations (WBJU) and on the staff of the student newspaper.
