Jeanne Monahan, President of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, has reached out to pastors nationwide inviting them to come with members of their congregations to Washington, DC, in January for the annual pro-life march. “[I]t is critical that believers of every church and denomination participate in this event…. Only together will we be able to truly build a culture of life.”
On January 22, 1973, the Supreme Court issued its infamous Roe v. Wade decision that asserted a right to privacy in the Constitution that extended to abortion. Every year thereafter, masses of pro-life marchers have come to Washington to protest that ruling and to promote a culture that properly values prenatal life. This year, the March for Life theme will be “Every Life is a Gift, ” and will particularly emphasize the value of those babies prenatally diagnosed with disabilities such as Down Syndrome and Spina Bifida, children who are aborted at alarmingly high rates (as high as 90 percent).
