Embracing Supreme Court Ruling: 'Spiritually Schizophrenic'?

Last week’s Supreme Court ruling imposing “gay marriage” nationwide has reignited conversation within churches about what marriage is and why that holy union is important. Is acceptance of the Court’s ruling “spiritually schizophrenic”?

Earlier this year at its 2015 International Christian Media Convention, NRB hosted a diverse panel debate titled “Cultural Controversy Through the Lens of Scripture: What Does the Bible Say About Homosexuality?” In the course of the discussion, nationally syndicated radio host Janet Parshall told Brandan Robertson, Executive Director of The RISE Network and spokesperson for Evangelicals For Marriage Equality, that his support for “gay marriage” in civil society “seems to be a spiritually schizophrenic position.” 


They renewed that line of debate near the end of the discussion:


Michael Brown, President of the FIRE School of Ministry, who earlier had warned about the “attempt to redefine marriage and the agenda that’s being pushed,” also engaged in this conversation at the conclusion of the debate:
