CBN Ministry Releases “Powerful” New Child Care Resource

Adoption & FosterOrphan’s Promise, a ministry of the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), has released a new resource for anyone involved in child care.

The new product, Adoption & Foster Rx: Solutions for Wounded Families, is designed to help those involved in adoption or foster care. The seven-part DVD set, created by Terry Meeuwsen, Director and Founder of Orphan’s Promise, addresses specific needs including:

• Disarming Difficult Behaviors

• Learning to Re-Parent

• Understanding Food & Sleep Issues

• Dealing with Lying & Stealing

• Preparing Your Teen for Adulthood

• Tag-Team Parenting

“This project was born of my own personal struggles with international adoption,” recalls Meeuwsen, who is as an adoptive parent to five children and a biological parent to two.

“There were so few resources for people like me who desperately needed help in parenting children who had suffered trauma and abandonment issues,” she adds. “My sincere prayer is that this DVD series will address those needs and provide the answers to issues that face adoptive and foster care parents.”

Adoption & Foster Rx is being touted as a “powerful tool” for parents, care givers or anyone involved in adoption or foster care; as a teaching series for a church; or for anyone involved with children. The four-disc DVD set includes a downloadable workbook and is available for a donation of $35 or more, including shipping and handling.

More information on the resource, including a DVD trailer, can be found on the Orphan’s Promise website.  Also featured on the website is a heart-warming interview with Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), who shares about her struggles to help hurting children.

Orphan’s Promise, which Meeuwsen founded in response to her struggles with international adoption, is a ministry to help abused, abandoned and vulnerable children in over 50 countries

The mission of the ministry is based off of John 14:18, in which Jesus says, “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”
