Troy A. Miller, NRB president & CEO, recently sat down with Erick Stackelbeck on his TBN show to discuss NRB’s new home in Washington, the revival of faith among the next generation, and the association’s 2025 study with the Barna Group on the state of Christian media.
“So much of what we deal with for Christian communicators is legislative in nature,” Miller said. “We want the best environment there can be for Christians to operate in, to make sure Christians can stay in that marketplace. This office will allow us to expand, to grow, and to keep that mission active and alive.”
Miller continued: “There’s a rejection of the mainstream media. It has divided people, caused a lot of depression, caused a lot of lack of hope. …. The young adults especially are rejecting this and are looking for truth, for authenticity. … I do think we are seeing the beginnings of a revival.”

Michael Farris, general counsel for NRB, spoke with Myrna Brown on WORLD Radio about free speech, the First Amendment, and the controversy over Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension.
“The starting point for thinking through these issues is the First Amendment,” Farris said. “The First Amendment only binds the government. The government cannot interfere with freedom of speech. … And that should be the rule when my friends are in office, and it should be the rule when my opponents are in office. We should stand up for the freedom of speech for everybody. It’s the FCC job at the end of the day to make sure that that’s happened.”

Miller also spoke with Dr. Tim Clinton on “Sunday the Road Forward” about NRB’s new Barna research, the importance of religious liberty, and signs of revival.
“Sixty percent of Americans engage with Christian media in some form,” Miller said, “and that’s the general population of the country, not just Christians.”
Miller continued: “America is waking up to the hypocrisy of the mainstream media. … Gen Z seems to be the generation that’s leading this. … They’re coming to Christianity, and they’re coming to Christ. That is extremely hopeful for our country.”
He also discussed NRB’s partnership with the White House America Prays initiative leading into the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary: “We’re asking churches and people to be praying for our country… Pray that the Gospel would go forward. Pray that our country would remember its Christian roots and return to that foundation.”

Miller also spoke with the Nick Walters, host of “This Week in Christian History” about the 1944 founding of the National Religious Broadcasters, NRB’s ongoing advocacy for Christian communicators, and the organization’s impact today across radio, television, digital media, and beyond.
“When electronic media came about, specifically in 1944 radio, there was a group of pastors that thought, ‘Hey, this is a great way to get the Gospel out; this is a great way to reach a lot of people for the cause of Christ,’” Miller said. “The number one purpose of the formation of the association was to fight on behalf of those Christian communicators who wanted to be on mass media and in the public square.”

Miller also spoke with Dr. Bruce Oliver on “Talks for Christ” about NRB’s mission to defend Christian communicators, the tragic loss of Charlie Kirk, the America Prays initiative, and NRB’s advocacy to preserve AM radio for every vehicle.
“Everybody’s a Christian communicator in today’s world,” Miller said. “If you’re on any kind of social media—Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, whatever—you’re a communicator. Communicate your testimony. Communicate your story about the Gospel. And don’t be afraid.”
Miller talked about the freedom of speech and the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk with Jerry Newcombe on the Providence Forum podcast.
“To have those kinds of debates was extremely important to the founding of this country,” Miller said. “The thing that really set him [Charlie] apart was that he didn’t want to just sit down and win debates. He really cared about people. He cared about the lives they were living. And he deeply cared about where they were going to spend eternity.”

On theDove TV with Perry Atkinson, Miller also discussed Kirk’s legacy, the rise of Christian media, and the future of faith in the public square.
“We’ve got to make sure that Charlie’s memorial is not just a moment, but that it becomes ministry,” Miller said. “We as Christian communicators need to be ready, because people are going to turn to Christian media in a very private way… and they’re going to go, ‘Is this Gospel really true, is this what it’s about?’ And I think that’s the opportunity we have in front of us right now.”

Miller joined Coach Kerri Brinkoeter, alongside co-hosts Cathy Endebrock and Marlene McMichael, on LoveTalk Network to discuss the state of Christian Media in the United States and across the globe.
“Two thirds of the people found Christian media as both valuable and trustworthy,” Miller said, “meaning that it was important to their lives. … I can tell you that mainstream media would love to get out of the teens on that ‘trustworthy’ note. They have lost their credibility.”
