March for Life Unveils ‘Pro-Science’ Theme for 2019

The March for Life Education and Defense Fund has announced the theme for its 46th annual demonstration, which will be held on January 18, 2019. The theme will be “Unique from Day One: Pro-Life is Pro-Science.”

“Science is behind the pro-life movement,” said Jeanne Mancini, president of March for Life, in the announcement last week.

“We see that medical and technological advancements always affirm the pro-life movement,” she added, noting that DNA is present at fertilization and that a baby’s heart beats at just six weeks, among other facts.

“As science progresses, we see clearly that every life is unique from day one in the womb,” Mancini added.

On January 22, 1973, the Supreme Court issued its infamous Roe v. Wade decision that asserted a right to privacy in the Constitution that extended to abortion. Every year thereafter, masses of pro-life marchers have come to Washington to protest that ruling and to promote a culture that properly values prenatal life.

Dr. Jerry A. Johnson, president & CEO of NRB, will rally with other pro-life leaders at the march to urge respect for human life and the end of abortion in America, and NRB will again be among the sponsors of the march.

NRB’s Statement of Faith says in part that NRB believes:

“The right to life and physical integrity of every unborn human life is inviolable—it is not a concession made by society or the state, but is instead inherent to the unborn human life by virtue of its creation in the image of God.”

It also states:

“We are strongly committed to the preservation and defense of unborn human life, which compels our religious, moral, and ethical duty to defend unborn human life from destruction, whether by surgical abortion or use of drugs, devices, or services that have the intent, design, effect, or risk of terminating unborn human life or preventing its implantation and growth post-fertilization.”
