Make Your Pitch at the 2024 NRB Pitch-a-thon and TV Showcase

NRB | January 11, 2024 | NRB News

As the central hub for Christian media professionals, the 2024 NRB International Christian Media Convention offers rich opportunities for up-and-coming names in Christian media to make key connections. In fact, there’s no better place for those in the film and television industry to pitch screenplays or finished media projects to directors and distributors with a proven track record in the industry.

TV Showcase

For those in the television production industry seeking to gain new visibility for their programs, the NRB 2024 TV Showcase is a key event to attend. Set for Tuesday, February 20, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., this event will introduce you to network program directors and station managers looking for new products and work not owned by networks or affiliates.

At the TV Showcase, you can present short concept reels or trailers for your produced or in-development films and TV programs. This event offers content creators a chance to display their work to industry leaders who are seeking original content for worldwide broadcast and streaming platforms.

“Some of the best programs on Christian TV started by entering the showcase,” said Lee Miller, a member of NRB’s Television Committee.

All media projects must be submitted online to be considered. Registration to NRB 2024 is not required to submit a project for consideration, but a Full or Day-Only registration is required to attend the event.

NRB Pitch-A-Thon

Whether you have a screenplay, story, or book-to-movie pitch, or a completed TV, documentary, or video project that’s ready for primetime, the NRB Pitch-A-Thon is for you. The 11th annual NRB Pitch-A-Thon (Friday, February 23, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.) will welcome 23 distributors, sales agents and producers seeking finished, ready-to-distribute products, documentaries, movies, series, talk shows, educational material, and more.

Historically, the NRB Pitch-A-Thon has resulted in many completed deals, and many participants received offers for distribution for their films, documentaries, short films, and other projects and screenplays.

“Many of you likely have shows you have just finished or shot in the past. Getting to pitch it to legit companies who can get it into the marketplace is not easy… except here!” said Paul Sirmons, president of International Christian Visual Media (ICVM). “You get five minutes one-on-one with each distributor you choose to pitch your project. If they like it, it may lead to a deal. If not, you walk away with new relationships that can only help you in the future.”

Among the list of representatives are directors and distributors who have contributed to the success of notable productions such as “Sound of Freedom,” “War Room,” “Legacy Peak,” “Miracle in East Texas,” the “God’s Not Dead” series, “The Blind,” “Vindication” series, “Never Give Up,” “Church People,” and other notable projects.

Learn How to Pitch Your Script

Looking to refine your pitch? Make plans to attend the “How to Pitch Your Script” NRB workshop (Friday, February 23, 10:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m.).

Catherine Clinch (writer & producer at Nuclear Family Films) will share how to craft a story that evokes a positive emotional response and shows complex, multi-dimensional characters in a world we haven’t seen before; then, how to learn how to tell a story in a single sentence and a series of images that will grab the attention of buyers and make them want to hear more.
