Live Prayer Call Highlights Christian Leadership, Spiritual Health for America

NRB | January 13, 2022 | Advocacy, Advocacy News

In NRB’s annual live prayer call on Wednesday, January 12, NRB CEO Troy A. Miller challenged attendees “to ask and petition and to bring forth our needs” to God in the new year.

Miller was joined by Dr. Tony Hart, Pastor H.B. Charles, and Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA), who led prayers for Christian pastors, elected leaders, and the spiritual health of our nation.

Dr. Hart thanked God for providential help in continuing ministry during a global pandemic and prayed for protection against laws that would limit the spread of the Gospel, asking that lawmakers would follow God and govern in accordance with His will.

Rep. Hice, who served for nearly 25 years as a pastor before taking office in 2015, emphasized the importance of Christian communicators in illuminating spiritual matters “at this critical hour” for our nation.

“We cannot fix what’s wrong in America with another piece of legislation; we cannot fix it by throwing more money at it,” Hice said. “Now more than ever before, we need the good hand of God leading us and guiding us, navigating us through these turbulent days.”

Pastor Charles highlighted Matthew 6:33 as an encouragement to the NRB community.

“The reason why prayer is so foundational is that it’s the most practical way in which we seek God,” Charles said. “If we seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, there really is no need to worry about anything that is going on presently or anything in the future. All the things that we need will be fully supplied.”

In closing, Miller urged the NRB audience to recommit to prayer in 2022 and remain steadfast in communication with God.

“Let’s make this a year where we are just committed to be on our knees in prayer as we move forward,” Miller said.
