At the 2023 NRB International Christian Media Convention, an NRB Forum comprised of broadcasters and faith leaders shared their firsthand experiences and insights on the role of Christian media in responding to international crises. The discussion, which took place on Wednesday, May 24, delved into the Church’s response to the challenges wrought by war, natural disasters, and religious persecution around the world. Attendees had the opportunity to gain valuable information and learn about the latest trends and innovations in the field of global Christian media.
Dr. Ron Harris, founder and president of MEDIAlliance International, moderated the discussion on “The Church and Christian Media Internationally Today.” Panelists included Ed Cannon (President & CEO of Far East Broadcasting Company), Lauren Libby (President & CEO of Trans World Radio), and Rev. Samuel Rodriguez (lead pastor of New Season and President & CEO of NHCLC).
- “What we really need to look at is our content and ask if it’s relevant,” Ed Cannon said. “I don’t care what the ‘brand’ is, I want to know that it points them to Jesus.”
- “We are not just on the air—we are online and we are on the ground,” said Lauren Libby. “If we don’t conserve that fruit in this time, we will lose the next generation.”
- Samuel Rodriguez shared, “At the end of the day it’s about engagement. We have several opportunities now to share the reality of the gospel that is effective, measurable, and efficient.”
The Forum was sponsored by Woodrow Kroll Ministries, which exists to connect people with the Author of the Bible through the teaching of the Bible.
