At NRB 2023, Mainstage Forum to Address “Gender Confusion”

NRB | April 6, 2023 | NRB News

“Male and female He created them,” Genesis 1:27 says—and generations agreed. Today, this belief has fallen out of favor as our culture increasingly denies the fundamental truth of Scripture, asserting that our biological sex is only “assigned at birth” and that every person’s “gender identity” must be affirmed — often with body-altering hormone treatments and deforming surgeries.

On May 24, an NRB forum titled “Gender Confusion” will be presented live at the 2023 NRB International Christian Media Convention, bringing together Christian leaders and media voices to discuss the implications of this cultural shift. Panelists will delve into the dangers of denying biological reality and the negative consequences of gender ideology and how it seeks to erode the traditional family structure.

Critical topics that will be addressed during the forum include the roots of this movement, the impact on the mental, physical, and spiritual health of the younger generation, and how Christians can respond to this ideological and spiritual error with grace and biblical truth.

The panel will be moderated by Christian radio broadcaster Janet Mefferd. Mefferd was heard on more than 450 radio stations during her 12 years of daily national talk-show syndication. She is also a former news and religion reporter and editor for newspapers including The Dallas Morning News and the Daily Herald in suburban Chicago.

The forum will feature the following panelists:

  • Libby Emmons, editor-in-chief at The Post Millennial & Human Events. Emmons holds an MFA from Columbia University, a BA from Sarah Lawrence College, and was a playwright and indie theater producer in New York City before becoming red-pilled and turning to conservative media. She has been published in the New York Post, The Federalist, Spectator US, Unherd, Quillette, and other outlets.
  • Jeff Myers, president of Summit Ministries. As an educator and entrepreneur, Dr. Myers has become one of America’s most respected authorities on youth leadership development. Through his speaking engagements and media appearances, Dr. Myers has become a fresh voice offering humor and insight from a Christian worldview.
  • Brandon Mark Showalter, journalist at The Christian Post. Showalter earned a BA in International Studies and Spanish from Bridgewater College of Virginia, a Master of Arts in Human Rights from The Catholic University of America. He has also been a featured contributor in documentaries that explore how transgenderism exploits children and fractures families, including the Tucker Carlson Originals FOX Nation film “Transgressive: The Cult of Confusion” and “Dead Name” by Broken Hearted Films, both of which were released in 2022.
  • Lucas Miles, an award-winning author, podcaster, and TV host. An accomplished Christian commentator, Miles consistently addresses some of the most challenging topics in theology, politics, and culture. He is the host of EpochTV’s “Church & State with Lucas Miles” and the author of best-selling books “The Christian Left: How Liberal Thought Has Hijacked the Church” and “Woke Jesus: The False Messiah Destroying Christianity.” Miles is a faculty member at Summit Ministries, pastor, and president of the Nfluence Network, based in Granger, Ind.

The NRB Forum will be sponsored by The Epoch Times, a media company that is dedicated to seeking the truth through insightful and independent journalism, standing outside of political interests, and the pursuit of profit, in order to serve the public benefit and be truly responsible to society.
