NRB Staffers, Past and Present, Celebrate Retirement of Anne Dunlap

On Friday, August 2, NRB staff members – past and present – in the D.C.-metro area gathered to celebrate the retirement of Anne Dunlap, who served on the association’s staff for more than four decades.

Dunlap began her service to NRB in 1976 when the headquarters office was based in New Jersey under then-Executive Director Ben Armstrong. She moved with the organization when the office relocated to Virginia in 1992, and also worked in Washington, D.C., after NRB moved its headquarters there in 2016.

Among those present at the special luncheon Friday was Steve Cross, who served NRB in the past as its Director of Marketing. He recalled how it “always a pleasure to work with Anne.”

“She always greeted everyone with a smile, and was willing to help in any area to do anything that was needed,” he said. “She was a wonderful co-worker and is a sweet friend.”

Chuck Smith, who currently serves as Convention Floor Manager & Project Coordinator, added, “I miss seeing her at the office and it doesn’t seem to be complete there now.”

“She was always faithful to come in every day,” he recalled.

And Mike Kisha, NRB’s Vice President of Finance, added, “It was a pleasure and blessing to work with Anne for the approximately 26 years we worked together for the Lord at NRB.”

“Anne was very dedicated to her work with NRB, and fulfilled her various responsibilities with excellence,” he said. “We miss her in the office, especially the wonderful cheerful spirit she displayed to her fellow staff members.”

During the NRB Convention in 2017, NRB’s Board of Directors recognized Dunlap’s 40th anniversary with the association by passing a resolution in her honor.

“NRB thanks and honors Anne Dunlap for her four decades of service and her firm commitment to the association and its mission to advance biblical truth, to promote media excellence, and to defend free speech,” the Board resolved.

Having been with NRB for 42 years, Dunlap is the longest-serving staff member in the association’s 75-year history.
