When Mercy Ships began 43 years ago, about 70% of the world’s population lived within 100 miles of a port city. Mercy Ship founder, Don Stephens, saw this as an opportunity to offer hope and healing to people all over the world by using hospital ships to bring medical care into port cities.
Long-time NRB member Don Johnson died on Friday, Sept. 24, 2021. Johnson’s love for the Lord began early in his life. When he was 18 years old, Johnson was ordained as a minister at Union Avenue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee.
Florence (Sue) Bahner, 93, died on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021. Bahner, the daughter of Irish immigrants and a survivor of the Great Depression began building a remarkable career immediately after graduating high school at age 16.
