For the first time, the International Christian Visual Media’s (ICVM) 45th annual Crown Awards will be split into two events: a nominee announcement event and an awards ceremony.
Nominees for the ICVM Crown Awards will be announced on November 21, the final day of the association’s Storytellers Virtual Event. Winners will be announced at a live main-stage ceremony on March 17, 2021, at the NRB 2021 Christian Media Convention in Grapevine, Texas.
ICVM Executive Director Jared Geesey said this year’s Crown Awards received 140 entries from 22 countries in more than a dozen categories, including best drama, best television program, best documentary, best music/worship production, best evangelistic production, and more.
“ICVM is excited to bring the 45th annual Crown Awards, the longest-running Christian film awards, to NRB,” said Geesey. “We know the ministries, broadcasters, and all NRB attendees will be excited to celebrate and discover the very best in Christian visual media from ICVM producers and filmmakers.”
The ICVM Crown Awards are a celebration of films and filmmakers, encouraging and inspiring creativity by showcasing great examples of excellence in communicating Christian values.
“Our ICVM membership is looking forward to being a part of the NRB family next March in Texas, and the Crown Awards ceremony is going to be fun and exciting,” said ICVM President Paul Sirmons. “The value to the independent Christian filmmakers receiving their Crown Awards in the wide media spotlight that NRB affords is immeasurable.”
For years, the ICVM annual conference has been the highlight of the year for Christians involved in the production and distribution of visual media, film, and television. This year, ICVM will be holding its conference as a fully interactive virtual event, November 19-21. Seminar tracks will cover production, distribution, and creative (writing, casting, acting, etc.).
The Virtual Event will also include inspiring speakers, licensing opportunities, and activities such as a distributor’s pitch-a-thon, concerted prayer over projects, roundtable networking, film screenings, devotionals, fellowship, and even a game night. The event will culminate in the celebration and announcement of the nominees for the ICVM Crown Awards from this year’s submissions.
