Teen Challenge International USA to Receive NRB Milestone Award

Nashville, TN – Teen Challenge International USA will receive the prestigious NRB Milestone Award during the Awards Dinner on Tuesday, February 25, at the NRB 2014 International Christian Media Convention in Nashville, TN.

The NRB Milestone Award is presented each year at the annual NRB Convention to pioneers in Christian communications who have demonstrated exemplary service in the industry for five decades or longer.

“Since its inception in 1958, the ministry of Teen Challenge International has impacted the lives of countless youth and adults,” noted NRB President & CEO Dr. Jerry A. Johnson. “May God bless its Founder, David Wilkerson, and the work of this unique ministry for their efforts in providing Christ-centered solutions to those struggling with addictions.”

The mission of Teen Challenge is to provide youth, adults, and families with an effective and comprehensive Christian faith-based solution to life-controlling drug and alcohol problems in order to become productive members of society. This international drug rehabilitation program, founded by the late Rev. David Wilkerson, is known for having one of the highest success rates anywhere in the world. Since its first center opened in New York in 1960, Teen Challenge has grown to more than 188 centers in 48 states, and nearly 1,000 centers in 94 countries. Wilkerson, author of The Cross and Switchblade, also founded a global evangelistic ministry, World Challenge.
