SAT-7 Founder, CEO Terry Ascott to Deliver International Keynote at NRB 2013

AscottManassas, VA- Dr. Terence Ascott, Founder and CEO of SAT-7, will deliver a keynote address on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the International Keynote of the NRB 2013 Convention & Exposition in Nashville, TN.

“SAT-7 has done tremendous work in broadcasting the hope of Jesus Christ to millions throughout the Middle East and North Africa,” commented NRB President & CEO Dr. Frank Wright. “I am excited to have Terry speak at NRB 2013.”

For more than 35 years, Dr. Ascott has lived in the Middle East and served as the leader for indigenous media ministries. In 1973, he moved to Beirut, Lebanon, and helped launch an Arabic Christian publishing ministry. After the start of the Lebanese Civil War, Dr. Ascott and his family evacuated to Egypt, where he helped begin the Arabic youth magazine Magalla, the first Christian magazine to be successfully distributed on Egyptian newsstands. Magalla was published for 20 years and, according to many Arab Christians, was instrumental in bringing many people to Christ.

While working for the magazine, Dr. Ascott’s ministry became involved in other media projects, including video production. In 1995, he and other Middle Eastern Christian leaders and partner organizations working in the region launched SAT-7, the first Arabic Christian satellite television channel.

Today, conservative estimates put SAT-7’s total audience in excess of 15 million people.
