Manassas, VA – Radio Shema, based in Ankara, Turkey, will receive the prestigious NRBInternational Radio Ministry Award during the February 28th International Luncheon at the NRB Convention & Exposition.

“In a country that is almost totally Muslim, Radio Shema is a beacon of hope, and a source of encouragement for the small, but growing number of evangelical believers,” said Dr. Ron Harris, NRB Senior Vice President for Strategic Partnerships. “Against intimidation and threats, Radio Shema talks of Jesus, His love, and His transforming power. And God is using them to make a difference.”

Radio Shema is one of two Christian radio stations in Turkey, a 98% Muslim country. This fully legal station is located in the capital, Ankara. Shema reaches close to 7 million people via FM broadcast and has the potential of reaching Turks all over the world through their Internet stream. Their vision is to reconcile people to God by presenting them with a true understanding about God and what He has done for us through Jesus Christ, and they do this by producing programming in Turkish for Turks.

The NRB International Radio Ministry Award is presented to an organization based outside the United States that excels in radio or audio ministry, exercising integrity and faithfulness to the cause of Christ, while demonstrating unusual effectiveness in impacting the target culture with the Gospel.
