Manassas, VA – Radio Mosoj Chaski, based in Cochabamba, Bolivia, will receive the NRB International Radio Ministry Award during the February 21st International Keynote Session at the NRB 2012 Convention & Exposition.
“Reaching over one million regular listeners, Radio Mosoj Chaski speaks biblical truth to the Quechua Indians of Bolivia,” said NRB Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships Dr. Ron Harris. “Its programming, totally in the Quechua language and sent via shortwave, is a lifeline for news, inspiration, and Bible study for those living in the Andes Mountains and the towns of Bolivia. Operating for over 12 years, Radio Mosoj Chaski’s ministry is strong and its impact is powerful.”
Radio Mosoj Chaski (New Messenger Radio) broadcasts to the Quechua people, located in Bolivia and southern Peru. The Quechuas, descendants of the Incas, are animistic, and the church struggles with syncretism. The geographical isolation of the rural churches presents unique challenges. Mosoj Chaski produces all its own programs contextualized for the needs of its audience. The programs are broadcast 8 hours daily on its 90 meter SW frequency, and by 25 FM radio stations. Their listening audience is both Christian and non-Christian. Testimonies abound of people who have been spiritually blessed by Mosoj Chaski.
The NRB International Radio Ministry Award is presented to an organization based outside the United States that excels in radio or audio ministry, exercising integrity and faithfulness to the cause of Christ, while demonstrating unusual effectiveness in impacting the target culture with the Gospel.
