NRB President & CEO Dr. Jerry A. Johnson: Be Hopeful, Prayerful Amid Gaza Ceasefire

Manassas, VA–Dr. Jerry A. Johnson, the President & CEO of the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB), is encouraging Christians to be hopeful and prayerful about the most recent ceasefire in Gaza.

But he also says Christians should be resolved to support Israel against future terrorism should Hamas resume the missile attacks.

“Approximately 4,500 rockets have been fired at Israel since July 8,” expressed Dr. Johnson on Thursday in recounting his trip last week with 10 other Christian ministry and media leaders. “Americans would not play nice if a neighboring country was shooting rockets daily on us; we should not expect Israel to do so either.”

Last week, Dr. Johnson led a diverse group of Christian leaders on a visit to Israel to stand in support of the nation’s right to defend itself from those who would deny their right to exist. After returning last Friday, Dr. Johnson encouraged others to plan visits as well.

"We experienced a security setting second to none," he noted in his written reflection on the "Christians in Solidarity with Israel" trip. "We can encourage others to plan tours, vacations, and conferences at this time. The airport at Tel Aviv, the Old City of Jerusalem, and the traditional Holy Land sites were all safe and sound."

"This is a strategic time to visit Israel to show support and avoid long lines!" he added.
