Nashville, TN – Socrates in the City and BreakPoint Host Eric Metaxas will be bringing a thought-provoking and entertaining forum to the NRB 2014 International Christian Media Convention in Nashville, TN. And joining Metaxas will be Dr. Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., Emeritus Professor of Neurosurgery, Oncology, Plastic Surgery, & Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins Medicine and Chairman & CEO of American Business Collaborative, LLC.
The forum, "A Conversation with Eric Metaxas and Ben Carson: 'Life, God, and Other Small Topics,'" will be held at 4:30 p.m. CT on Monday, February 24, and be hosted by the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview and Hashtag Productions. Moderated by Colson Center Fellow and Host John Stonestreet, the forum will be open to all convention participants. About Eric Metaxas:
Eric Metaxas is the Founder and Host of "Socrates in the City," the acclaimed speakers series of entertaining and thought-provoking discussions on “Life, God, and other small topics” featuring such speakers as Dr. Francis Collins, Sir John Polkinghorne, Baroness Caroline Cox, N.T. About Dr. Benjamin S. Carson, Sr.:
Dr. Carson is an Emeritus Professor of neurosurgery, oncology, plastic surgery, and pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and he has directed pediatric neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center for more than a quarter of a century. He became the inaugural recipient of a professorship dedicated in his name in May 2008. Dr. Carson holds more than 60 honorary doctorate degrees. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the Horatio Alger Society of Distinguished Americans, and many other prestigious organizations. He is a highly regarded motivational speaker who has addressed various audiences from school systems and civic groups to corporations and the President’s National Prayer Breakfast. In 2001, Dr. Carson was named by CNN and TIME magazine as one of the nation’s 20 foremost physicians and scientists. In June 2008, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by the President, which is the highest civilian honor in the land. He has literally received hundreds of other awards during his distinguished career. In addition to writing a weekly opinion column for The Washington Times, Carson is a FOX News contributor and currently working on his newest book, One Nation, scheduled for release in May 2014.
