Manassas, VA – The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) will receive the 2013 NRB Media Award for Best Television Public Service Announcement on Tuesday, March 5, at the NRB 2013 Convention & Exposition.
The Best Television Public Service Announcement Award is presented each year to an organization that produces a PSA that is designed to educate and inform the general public about a free public service that is offered by a Christian non-profit organization. The award represents the best in technical quality and creativity, and goes to a PSA that presents a compelling message about a public service in no less than fifteen seconds and no more than two minutes. This year, the judges named BGEA the winner of the award for “Who Will Speak?”
“Since 2002, BGEA’s ‘My Hope’ project has equipped more than 300,000 churches in 57 countries in evangelism and discipleship,” noted NRB President & CEO Dr. Frank Wright. “When the ministry launches ‘My Hope with Billy Graham’ later this year in North America for the first time, churches and individuals all over the nation will be equipped, free of charge, to lead their own ‘living room Crusades’ as Billy Graham shares a message exclusively for them.”
“Who Will Speak?” was created with the intention of informing the general public about “My Hope with Billy Graham” – an evangelistic effort that will culminate on November 7, Billy Graham's 95th birthday. The nationwide evangelistic initiative, BGEA’s largest ever, will provide churches and individuals with a free, unprecedented opportunity to reach their friends, family, and neighbors with the love of Christ.
For the PSA, the BGEA video team combined footage from the Billy Graham archives with new, cinematically shot scenes to create a seamless storyline. Animated graphics and compelling music were added in post-production.
To date, the PSA has been used in a variety of ways across North America, both online and via television, to motivate the general public to find out more about the initiative at the website provided.
