Manassas, VA – The NRB 2011 General Session on Saturday, February 26th in Nashville, TN, will feature a performance by world-renowned female vocalist Nicole C. Mullen.

Dr. Frank Wright, NRB President & CEO commented, “Nicole brings a great talent and a heart for the things of God. We are delighted and blessed to have Nicole minister to us in song for the glory of God.”

Nicole C. Mullen is a wife, mother, award-winning singer, songwriter, and choreographer. She grew up in Cincinnati, OH, and is no stranger to heartache and pain. As a young girl, Mullen looked to Queen Esther, an orphan, and King David, a shepherd boy, for encouragement. “The not so good old days can make you weak or make you brave,” says Mullen. She has chosen the latter, “to be made brave”.

Mullen has traveled with the Billy Graham Crusades, Franklin Graham, Will Graham, Luis Palau, and Women of Faith, to name a few. She has shared the stage with Ambassadors, Heads of State, dignitaries, and the President of the United States. Mullen has sung in the Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall, mega-churches and small storefronts. Her travels have led her throughout the United States as well as overseas to countries like Uganda, Australia, Rwanda, Sweden, England, Kenya, and South Africa. Mullen has also won multiple Dove Awards, including Song of the Year (“Redeemer” and “On My Knees”), Female Vocalist of the Year, Contemporary Song of the Year (“Call on Jesus”), and she is the first African American to win Songwriter of the Year, in addition to being nominated for two Grammy Awards.

Recognizing the importance of mentoring young people, Mullen has started two mentorship programs. Baby Girls Club mentors girls (ages 5-18) and teaches them the love of Christ through the arts, and Team NCM trains young guys and girls (ages 9-17) who are gifted in the arts, and provides them with outlets to showcase their talents while growing as disciples of Jesus Christ. Mullen has also penned two children’s books, Black, White, and Tan, and Baby Love. She is currently working on a book about her life’s story.
