Manassas, VA – KDOV-LP, a.k.a. theDove (Medford, OR), will receive the prestigious NRB Low Power Station of the Year Award February 21st at the NRB 2012 Convention & Exposition.
“KDOV has a big vision to reach as many people as possible with the Good News,” said NRB President & CEO Dr. Frank Wright. “Through understanding the media habits of their audience, theDove has used their low power station to reach far beyond their home base of Medford, Oregon.”
The mission of theDove is to proclaim the life changing message of Jesus Christ, to affirm the faith of believers in Jesus Christ, to provide hope and truth to the seeker, and to encourage growth and maturity for the seasoned believer to become reproductive in their faith. Focusing on how potential audiences use media (TV, radio, and social portals), theDove continues its efforts to make the necessary changes needed to connect with their current audience, along with future audiences that may engage with the message heard and seen on theDove.
The Low Power NRB Station of the Year Award is presented—with an understanding of budgetary restraints and broadcast limitations—to a television station that displays innovative and creative programming through its daily schedule; demonstrates sound financial decisions; is a force for the Gospel in its coverage of local Christian events, issues and stories; demonstrates a commitment to produce local programming to meet the spiritual needs of people within the TV station's broadcast area; and works in partnership with local churches and ministries to provide a media platform for voices unable to be heard elsewhere.
