FOCUS ON THE FAMILY TO RECEIVE NRB BEST TV
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT AWARD

 

FocusOnTheFamily_Logo.jpgManassas, VA – Focus on the Family will receive the prestigious NRB Best Television Public Service Announcement Award February 21st at the NRB 2012 Convention & Exposition for the Wait No More project.

“In a winsome and effective way, Focus on the Family tells the story of how individual families can collectively be a part of providing homes for orphans in Colorado,” said NRB President & CEO Dr. Frank Wright. “As a result of this PSA campaign over the past few years, hundreds and hundreds of children now have the hope of belonging to a loving family.”

At the end of Focus on the Family’s 30-second commercial for Wait No More, a young girl says, “Family is important, I think every kid should have one.” The ad then directs viewers to Focus on the Family’s Wait No More website, icareaboutorphans.org, where families can learn about the more than 107,000 children who languish in foster care waiting for families to call their own – and what they can do to help these kids. Focus’ Wait No More program helps raise awareness of and recruit families for these children. Since 2008, nearly 1,800 families have begun the adoption process thanks to Focus’ efforts.

The Best Television Public Service Announcement Award is presented to an organization that produces a PSA that is designed to educate and inform the general public about a free public service that is offered by a Christian non-profit organization. The award will represent the best in technical quality and creativity, and will present a compelling message about a public service. The length of the PSA is no less than fifteen seconds and is no longer than two minutes.
