Dr. Ben Carson to Speak at Media Leadership Dinner during NRB 2014 Convention

Manassas, VA– On February 23, during the Media Leadership Dinner at the NRB 2014 International Christian Media Convention in Nashville, TN, leaders from the association will hear from Dr. Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., Emeritus Professor of Neurosurgery, Oncology, Plastic Surgery, & Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins Medicine and Chairman & CEO of American Business Collaborative, LLC.

“We are honored and excited to have Dr. Carson join us for the NRB Convention,” expressed NRB President & CEO Dr. Jerry A. Johnson. “His distinguished career speaks for itself.”

In addition to speaking at the Media Leadership Dinner – an invitation-only gathering of “principals” from NRB’s member organizations and specially-invited VIP guests – Dr. Carson will be joining best-selling author and Breakpoint radio host Eric Metaxas for "A Conversation with Eric Metaxas and Ben Carson: Life, God, and Other Small Topics," a thought-provoking and entertaining forum hosted by the Colson Center and Hashtag Productions on Monday, February 24.

For more than a quarter of a century, Dr. Carson has directed pediatric neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. Today, he is a highly regarded motivational speaker who has addressed various audiences - from school systems and civic groups to corporations and the President’s National Prayer Breakfast. In 2001, Dr. Carson was named by CNN and TIME magazine as one of the nation’s 20 foremost physicians and scientists. In June 2008, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by the President, which is the highest civilian honor in the land. He has literally received hundreds of other awards during his distinguished career.

Furthermore, Dr. Carson holds more than 60 honorary doctorate degrees. He is also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the Horatio Alger Society of Distinguished Americans, and many other prestigious organizations. In addition to writing a weekly opinion column for The Washington Times, Dr. Carson is a FOX News contributor and currently working on his newest book, One Nation, scheduled for release in May 2014.
