“Best Use of Social Media” Award Goes to Focus on the Family for “Today I Will”

Focus on the Family logoManassas, VAFocus on the Family will receive the 2013 NRB Media Award for Best Use of Social Media on Tuesday, March 5, at the NRB 2013 Convention & Exposition.

The NRB Best Use of Social Media Award is presented each year to a Christian radio station, television station, ministry or other Christian organization that, through strategic planning, has effectively used the technology of social media for promotion of a product, service, or group, thereby fulfilling the mission of the organization. This year, the judges named Focus on the Family the winner of the award for its “Today I Will” campaign.

“For nearly four decades, Focus on the Family has been dedicated to helping families thrive by providing excellent assistance and resources,” noted NRB President & CEO Dr. Frank Wright. “In encouraging families to be intentional about building stronger bonds ‘one moment at a time,’ the ministry is impacting families for generations.”

“Today I Will” was a creative and strategic campaign to touch on the felt needs of parents and families as they launched back into a new school year. The main message of the campaign is that the strongest families are built one moment at a time. Small, everyday decisions add up, and Focus on the Family is here to help parents and families get started.

The ministry effectively promoted the "Today I Will" campaign by utilizing social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest to get people to go to the landing page, engage with content, and download an interactive PDF. They also created a Facebook app that gave users the ability to place a “Today, I Will” sticker on their photo and post it on their wall.
