Since going on the air in October 1998, Jamey Schmitz, Founder & President/CEO of WLMB-TV 40 Toledo and NRB Board member, has wanted to launch a quality live program. Now that the nondenominational Christian station has a studio of sufficient size and proper equipment, WLMB is proud to announce a live, local Christian talk show called Main Street.
Hosted by Schmitz and Virginia Bossa, Main Street discusses topics through the lens of Scripture, ranging from family and marriage to sanctity of life and AIDS, and it covers local Christian events. Jamey said the goal of the show is to "equip, educate, encourage, entertain, inform, and interact in a manner that is meaningful to our viewers."
"We're not going to shy away from controversial topics but we're not necessarily out there picking a fight with anyone," Schmitz said. "We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God and it's given to us for guidance and direction in our life."
The program is live from South Toledo on Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. with seven scheduled rebroadcasts on Wednesday at 10:30 p.m., Thursdays at 3:30 a.m., 6:00 a.m., and 9:00 p.m., and Fridays at 1:30 a.m., 6:30 a.m., and 7:00 p.m.
WLMB-TV, carried on Channel 6 on the Buckeye CableSystem, reaches a potential audience of more than 2.3 million in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. The station has received the NRB Full Power TV Station of the Year Award on four occasions.
