On October 12, Westar Media Group and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews marked the 52nd episode of Israel in the News, a five and three-minute weekly news program for Christian radio focused on events affecting Israel and the Middle East.
Presented by the Fellowship and written and produced each week by Westar, Israel in the News features timely news and on-site reporting from reporters in Jerusalem, London, and throughout the Middle East. It also features commentary on current events affecting Israel, Israel’s history and culture, and Jewish faith and life from Fellowship Founder and President Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein and other members of the Fellowship staff.
“In these volatile times, everyone’s hearts and minds are focused on Israel,” says Dave Koch, Westar Media Group President. “Israel in the News is the perfect weekly feature for both Christian and secular music and talk formatted stations.”
Adding to that, Jim Jewell, Chief Program Officer for the Fellowship, says, “Israel in the News has allowed us to reach out to an audience that’s hungry for news about Israel. We’re pleased to offer to our listeners a program that’s informative, timely, and thought-provoking.”
In completing its first year of rapid network expansion, the program added the CSN Network (373 stations), AFR-Talk Network (126 stations), and the Vision Radio Network (UCB), which airs on over 500 stations throughout Australia. This brings the program to over 1,175 affiliates in just one year.
The program is anchored by veteran radio news broadcaster Bob Souer.
